Rug Cleaning in Fisher Park
Collection and delivery in Fisher Park are included. We take the rug back to the workshop, wash it properly, and bring it home.
What Fisher Park is built from
Greensboro's oldest planned residential neighbourhood, built out from about 1905: Craftsman bungalows, American Foursquares, Queen Anne and Colonial Revival houses on a tight grid of streets around the park itself, between Church Street and North Elm.
A mix of restorers, downtown workers and long-standing residents. Front porches get used, windows get opened, and the front door is a short walk from the sidewalk.
The Fisher Park problem
Spring pollen, and what it does four months later. From late March into May the Piedmont lays down a heavy load of pine and oak pollen, and in a neighbourhood of open porches and open windows it goes straight into the pile. Pollen is not inert dust. The grains are proteinaceous and hygroscopic, so they hold moisture against the fibre, and a rug carrying a spring pollen load into a July with dew points in the seventies is being fed. That is why the musty smell in these houses tends to arrive in high summer rather than in spring: the mildew is living on what came in through the window in April. Washing after the pollen season, rather than before it, is the single most useful change most Fisher Park owners can make.
If that sounds like your rug, send the form and describe what you are seeing. We will tell you whether it needs the full treatment or not.
