Rug Cleaning in Lindley Park

Collection and delivery in Lindley Park are included. We take the rug back to the workshop, wash it properly, and bring it home.

The Houses

What Lindley Park is built from

1920s and 1930s bungalows on small lots either side of Spring Garden Street and Walker Avenue, close to the Greensboro Arboretum, with a substantial share of the housing stock rented out.

A genuine mix — decades-long owners next door to graduate students and young households two or three moves into a career. Rugs arrive, leave, and get stored between addresses.

What We Find Here

The Lindley Park problem

Rugs here spend time rolled, and rolling is where the damage starts. A rug that has been carried up a stair, kept upright in a closet for a summer and then laid back down holds set creases, and a crease is a hinge: the foundation flexes at that exact line every time somebody crosses it, until the warps give and the rug splits along a fold you have stopped noticing. Storage adds the second half. A rug rolled tight in plastic in an unconditioned Carolina garage or basement is being sealed in with whatever humidity was in it at the time, and it will come out smelling of the summer it sat through. Rugs store well loose, pile facing out, off the floor and out of plastic — and a rug that has already creased usually relaxes flat after a wash and a proper blocking.

If that sounds like your rug, send the form and describe what you are seeing. We will tell you whether it needs the full treatment or not.
